Retirement

Your horse has been a faithful, trustworthy, and a life long friend.  You have shared many memories of good times and bad, success and sorrow, but always a relationship of love and affection. Now that his or her competitive days are over, it is time for him/her to enjoy some well deserved 
R & R.  Where can you take your horse to enjoy the care and attention he/she has earned and deserve?  

Spellbound Farms may be the answer! Located on 30 rolling acres in North Central Florida, approximately 12 miles west of Lake City, which is due north of Ocala and Gainesville, we combine mild temperatures, moderate humidity, wonderful pastures, and care from dedicated professional equestrians and horse lovers.

We have in our care foals, training and competitive horses, and retirees.  Some are owned by Spellbound Farms, others by clients, but all are treated as our own.

All horses are fed high quality feed and hay in amounts correct for their body type, age and condition.  All horses enjoy 24-7 pasture turnout and access to shelter or stalls. Special feed and supplement programs are not a problem. We certainly can customize a program just for your horse! Owners and qualified staff are on the property to ensure your horse’s safety and well being at all times. Your horse is cared for in the same way and manner as our competitive and breeding horses (FEI Dressage and Eventing).   

We have access to superior veterinarians and farriers. Chiropractic and massage services can be provided as needed.  The University of Florida Veterinary Hospital, one of the finest vet schools in the country, is about an hour and half away in case of a major illness. These professionals are the same ones we use for OUR horses’ care and well being.

If additional exercise is warranted, a program can be tailored to your horse’s needs including longing, hand walking, and riding.

We keep you up-to-date on your horse’s condition, and visits are welcomed and encouraged!

Spellbound Farms is now accepting applications for a limited number of retirement horses to enjoy the sun, relaxation, and the best of care and attention. Retirement packages are available that include additional services tailored to your horse’s needs.  Long and short-term horse rehab and owner relocation programs are available.
